Welcome to the Chestnut Hill worship page! Worship includes a variety of experiences, including opportunities to worship through music – hymns, songs and spirituals! We at Chestnut Hill believe this element can help draw one closer in their relationship with the Lord. If you have any music ability, or the desire to do so, please contact the Worship Pastor. There are a few opportunities in which one can help lead in worship. The only requirement is that one be a born-again Christian and willing, if not already done, join the fellowship at CHBC. The one exception is LU students who are serving our church for either community service, general volunteer or practicum. Here are the ensembles that we offer:
Worship Choir – this vocal ensemble is made up of adults, 18 or older. Youth are welcome, too, especially on special events such as Christmas and Easter. Rehearsals are every Tuesday at 7 PM. That schedule is from September through May (academic schedule). Summer rehearsal schedule is every other Wednesday (and Sunday). The vast majority of worship leading is done on Sundays at the 11 AM service. We welcome singers of all voice varieties – soprano, alto, tenor and bass.
Praise Team {Currently not meeting} – this vocal and instrumental group is open to teenagers and adults, but an audition is required. Vocalists must have a good ear, some music reading comprehension and the ability to sing solo. Similar requirements for instrumentalists – proficiency on the instrument (either guitar, keyboard, bass or trap set, etc.) and a team player. Rehearsals are every Wednesday (academic calendar) from 6-6:30 PM. Like the worship choir, worship leading is done on Sundays at 11 AM.
